Abstract
The historical use of corticosteroids for cerebral oedema due to malignancy is reviewed. The mechanisms for the formation and treatment of cerebral oedema are discussed and advice is given as to the clinical use of dexamethasone, including mention of adverse effects and drug interactions.Keywords
