Abstract
The polarization of Lyman- radiation resulting from the direct excitation of hydrogen atoms by proton impact has been measured in the energy range 2-21 keV. A Brewster's angle polarization analyzer was used to measure the polarization of the observed Lyman- radiation. The results are compared with the four-state Sturmian calculation of Gallaher and Wilets.
