Role of Keratinases in Dermatophytosis

Abstract
The capillary tube migration test was used for the ‘in vitro’ demonstration of delayed hypersensistivity to two keratinases isolated from T. Mentagrophytes var. granulosum. Both heat-inactivated keratinases, I and II, inhibited migration of peritoneal exudate cells from guinea pigs previously infected twice with this dermatophyte. Trichophytin did not cause any significant inhibition of migration.
