Abstract
2.4 DCPAA at a conc. of 1000 ppm. in water and dissolved in Carbowax 1500, was sprayed upon apple nursery stock infested with bindweed. The plants were strongly wilted within 24 hrs. and the parts above ground were dead at 10 days. The parts below ground were spongy and enlarged at 5 days, and produced no buds. They died when exposed in propagation frames. Other concs. of DCPAA produced similar results, the intensity of response varying with conc. DCPAA also produced severe abnormalities with other plants. Tests on bindweed with TCPAA indicate that this substance is also effective as an herbicide. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
