Abstract
This paper presents a simultaneous equations model for the interaction of migration with changes in commuting, employment and housing stocks, and applies the model to census data for Greater London. Different spatial frames of reference are used: intra-metropolitan, intra-regional, and national. The results suggest an interdependence of migration and commuting with the decentralisation of employment within Greater London. Migration is influenced by tenure structure and turnover in the existing housing stock as well as by the availability of new housing. Keywords
