Effect of a Fungal Disease on Extensin, the Plant Cell Wall Glycoprotein

Abstract
The hydroxyproline-rich plant cell wall glycoprotein, extensin, shows a parallel increase of its arabinose and hydroxyproline contents in melon plants infected with anthraonose fungus. These variations are located in the hydroxyproline arabinosides which characterize this macromoleeule, particularly in the hydroxyproline tetra-arabinosides and tri-arabinosides.
