Abstract
A high-strength tool geometry has been developed as a result of research conducted in the Physical Research Department of the Cincinnati Milling Machine Company. This research was carried out with the purpose of overcoming difficulties in the machining of high-strength metals. Milling was chosen in the development of the high-strength tool geometry because it presents the most severe condition for the cutting tool, initial impact with each revolution. This tool geometry has been developed for the work-hardness range of 400 Bhn and over. Keywords
