Abstract
The ages of 2 recent moraines of the Mueller Glacier, Mt Cook, New Zealand, have been described as having formed in A.D. 1890 and A.D. 1850. The ages of these moraines are here dated using more accurate historical information, rock weathering-rind thickness measurements, 1 radiocarbon date, and a corrected lichen growth rate for the Mt Cook region. It is suggested that the 2 surfaces formed in c. A.D. 1610 and A.D. 1370 respectively. Keywords
