Abstract
Rocks of the In Ouzzal facies in Suggarian (Precambrian) complexes of the Sahara of Algeria comprise a charnockitic complex consisting essentially of pyroxenites, gneisses, plagioclasites, "granites," and "syenites" (lamboanites), with interstratified masses of crystalline limestone with silicate nodules, garnet and graphite gneisses, and "leptynites" with blue quartz. The structural arrangement of the In Ouzzal formations is totally different from that of ordinary Suggarian formations. Their eastern boundary is a large fault, whereas their western boundary is not a clear-cut fracture. Southward there appears to be a gradation into ordinary Suggarian rocks.
