Abstract
Extracts of HSV[herpes simplex virus]-2-transformed hamster [embryo fibroblast] cells inhibit plaque formation of HSV-1 and HSV-2 in normal hamster cells. Extracts also inhibit replication of HSV. The inhibitor is a soluble component of the cells, and probably does not act directly on extracellular virus. The inhibitor is not a classicial interferon since the inhibition is temperature-sensitive and the replication of VSV [vesicular stomatitis virus] is not impaired. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
