Locomotor Body Equilibrium after Diazepam Injection in the Squirrel Monkey

Abstract
The effect of diazepam injections (1.0–3.0 mg/kg) upon locomotor body equilibrium maintenance in squirrel monkeys was studied. Moderate to severe ataxia was seen during the 5-hour observation. Inasmuch as the present study was based upon a complex behavioral conditioning task, the psychotropic effects of this known CNS-depressant must be considered to be concomitant withits vestibulo-locomotor effects.
