Abstract
The literature on biotin in human nutrition and therapy was reviewed. The influence of diet on biotin excretion and the intestinal synthesis of biotin was discussed. Biotin deficiency symptoms are occasionally seen, especially in infants where the deficiency may be manifested as seborrheic dermatitis. Low urinary excretion and low circulating biotin levels can be found in certain sections of the population. This publication has 20 references indexed in Scilit:
