Abstract
The moiré pattern produced by two separated grids is extremely sensitive to the viewing angle. Two eyes see two different moiré patterns, which fuse together to form a single stereoscopic moiré pattern. Some examples are given in detail. For complicated figures, it is not possible to perceive a single moiré pattern and a fuzzy feeling is produced. Some of the impact of “Op art” may very well result from such effects. Keywords
