Abstract
The striking success in the use of chemotherapy and the surgical removal of tuberculous lesions in the lung is emphasized. The results in 221 patients operated upon during the period January 1, 1947 through May 1, 1952, including 68 treated by wedge excision, 38 by segmental resection, and 115 by lobectomy reveals an operative mortality of only 0.5%. 93% are well, and it seems assured that they will soon be capable of resuming employment. Of those operated prior to 1952 75% are working. Keywords
