The Life Attitude Profile (LAP): Further evidence of reliability and empirical validity.

Abstract

This study was conducted to provide additional evidence for the internal consistency, stability and empirical validity of the Life Attitude Profile (LAP). Students (38) and guidance counsellors (25) completed the LAP-Form III and a semantic differential measure of 6 life events. Following a 1-mo. interval, the LAP-Form III was re-administered to 32 students. The 7 LAP dimensions were internally consistent and stable over time. Evidence for the empirical validity of a number of the LAP dimensions was also obtained. There were no significant differences between males and females on any of the LAP dimensions or between guidance counsellors and students when age served as a covariate.
