CASE OF TETANUS TREATED WITH ANTITOXIN AND D-TUBOCURARINE

Abstract
A patient with tetanus was found sensitive to tetanus antitoxin which necessitated desensitization before the admn. of antitoxin. D-tubocurarine was admd. to control tonic convulsions. The patient developed spasm of larynx, necessitating a tracheotomy but finally made a complete recovery. Attention is called to the danger of this complication and the necessity of having a tracheotomy set ready for use when D-tubocurarine is employed in the treatment of a case of tetanus.
