Abstract
Anthonomus hunteri n. sp. is described from specimens collected in the Mexican states of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, and Yucatan. The species is apparently most closely related to the boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis Boheman, from which it is distinguished by several external characters. The known hosts of A. hunteri include the malvaceous plants Hampea nutricia Fryxell and Hampea trilobata Standley. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
