Abstract
Pressure broadening of individual rotation‐vibration lines in the ν6 band of propynal has been measured. The pressure dependence of the extinction coefficient was measured for a line coinciding with the P(12)CO2 laser line at 951.193 cm−1. The line shape was measured directly, using a tunable lead—tin—telluride diode laser, for a different line near 942.8 cm−1. A broadening parameter of (64±25) MHz/torr, corresponding to an optical diameter of (20±4) Å, was found in the first case, and values of (22±4) MHz/torr and (12±1) Å in the second. Keywords
