Study of Some of the Parameters Affecting Knudsen Effusion. II. A Monte Carlo Computer Analysis of Parameters Deduced from Experiment

Abstract
Results of computer calculations of the spatial distribution of the vapor effusing from a Knudsen cell are presented. The mathematical model used allowed variation in cell and sample geometries and the assignment of probabilities to the events thought actually to occur in a real Knudsen cell. Assignment of reasonable loss probabilities to various surfaces within the cell allowed experimental distributions to be duplicated. Explanation of these distributions is offered in terms of cell and sample geometries and the different fluxes produced by various surfaces within the cell.
