Abstract
This paper describes the functions to be performed by a new control system designed for the operation of the generation- transmission system of the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company. The primary message of this paper is to show how this control system, scheduled to be in service in late 1972, is planned to improve the security of the power system through the implementation of several innovations in the areas of security analysis, trouble analysis, automatic circuit restoration, generalized operation load flow, interconnection modelling, exact economic dispatch, man-machine interfaces and display, and operator training. Keywords
