Abstract
By systematically varying composition in the Pr‐Co‐B phase diagram we have determined starting alloy formulations which yield melt‐spun ribbons having technologically significant hard magnetic properties. In particular, energy products and coercivities as large as 5.5 MGOe and 25.0 kOe, respectively, have been observed in ribbons comprised principally of Pr2Co14B. We discuss the dependence of the magnetic characteristics on temperature as well as on composition. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
