Abstract
C. penneri is described from Callisaurus draconoides gabbii (type host) and several other N. American iguanids Sceloporus occidentalis biseriatus, S. graciosus vandenburgianus and Petrosaurus sp. Variation in the male caudal region of the genus Cyrtosomum is discussed. The taxonomic position of specimens resembling C. penneri from the hosts S. clarkii, S. magister rufidorsum, Gambelia w. wislizenii and G. w. silus remains uncertain pending experimental determination of host-induced morphological variation. The removal of the genus Cyrtosomum Gedoelst, 1919 from the Oxyurata by Skrjabin (1948) is challenged. Keywords
