Research Notes. PERSISTENCE AND CHANGE: A NOTE ON THE LONG-TERM EFFECTS OF AN ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

Abstract
The article analyzes the long-term effects of an organizational development program involving middle managers of a marketing organization in a national pharmaceutical house. The program was implemented at a time when the company was attempting to stabilize markets for some of its traditional product lines. The company recognized the need for organizational change brought on by increased competition, rising operating costs, the tightening of government controls, as well as other factors. An analysis of the program, which lasted 245 days, shows that regional managers increased in points on the Likert scale, while divisional managers somewhat decreased, However, in the following year divisional managers showed improvement.
