Abstract
The authors investigate the use of holographic transmitters in optical wireless local area networks. Holograms allow more optical power to be launched safely, leading to commensurate improvements in system range and performance. The authors assess the hologram performance, make comparison with theoretical predictions and quantify the improvement provided by holograms. Keywords
