Congenital anomalies of the sound-conducting organs are described in 84 ears. A division into 4 grades according to the condition of the ossicles and the tympanic cavity is suggested. Malformations of the external auditory canal and the temporo-mandibular joint seem to follow the deformity of the middle ear.
