Abstract
It is shown analytically that a well-known formula for height involving geodetic latitude is not accurate for an outer-space situation. An improved height formula is given which is insensitive to latitude to the first order of differentials. A non-iterative solution for latitude from given Cartesian space coordinates is also presented. Keywords
