Quantitative evaluation of electronic effects of the 1‐tetrazolyl group from1H and13C NMR data for substituted 1‐phenyltetrazoles

Abstract
The1H and13C NMR spectra of severalmeta‐ andpara‐substituted 1‐phenyltetrazoles have been recorded, and the observed chemical shifts used for (i) the evaluation of σp, σm, σI, σRand σR°, the Hammett and Taft values of the 1‐tetrazoyl group, and (ii) the transmission of the electronic effects of themetaandparasubstituents on the phenyl ring to the tetrazole carbon and hydrogen atoms.
