Abstract
An adaptive Viterbi equalizer and a decision feedback equaliser (DFE) for nonlinear intersymbol interference using a state-based probabilistic approach is proposed. The Viterbi equalizer design is suitable for high data rates and outperforms other concepts for high PMD.Keywords
