Abstract

A method of experimentally determining the transient response of seismometer, amplifier, and oscillograph is described. In the apparatus employed the earth motion is replaced by a transient wave generator and the seismometer by an equivalent electrical circuit. Comparison of these laboratory data with field records has shown that accurate predictions can be made from laboratory tests.
