Improvement of detection limits of flame-spectrophotometric determination of chlorinated organic pesticide residues

Abstract
It is shown that the detection limits of flame-photometric methods of analysis for the quantitative determination of chlorinated organic pesticide residues in food can be improved with a special burner, by enlarging the indium surface area that reacts with the chlorine. By using a spectrophotometer the detection limits were improved from 0·23 to 0·021 µg of lindane, and with a filter photometer from 0·086 to 0·022 µg of lindane.
