Abstract
Children, alone among the various segments of the television audience, are unlikely to form an organized pressure group. Yet, few other segments spend so much time glued to the television set. What have the national TV networks presented in the way of children's programming over the past 16 years? The following article is based on the author's dissertation, completed at Ohio State University in 1963. Maurice E. Shelby, Jr. is currently Assistant Professor of Speech and Dramatic Art at the University of Missouri.
