Abstract
The pure rotational and vibration–rotational Raman spectra of tritium, 3H2, have been recorded and analysed. The following rotational constants, vibration–rotational constants and bond lengths were obtained : B0= 20.03586 ± 0.0005 cm–1; 102D0= 0.499 ± 0.004 cm–1; 106H0= 1.2 ± 0.8 cm–1; α= 0.5856 ± 0.0002 cm–1; 103β=–0.294 ± 0.007 cm–1; Be= 20.3314 ± 0.0006 cm–1; 102De= 0.514 ± 0.004 cm–1; r0= 74.691 ± 0.002 pm; r1= 75.806 ± 0.003 pm; re= 74.151 ± 0.002 pm. The re values for 3H2 are compared with those of 1H2, 1H2H and 2H2.Keywords
