Abstract
BECAUSE ANXIETY and depressive disorders are some of the most common psychiatric conditions afflicting adolescents,1-6 it is important to study relationships between anxiety and depressive disorders in adolescents and adults. Such relationships have been explored from various perspectives, including family-based,7,8 biological,9,10 pharmacologic,11-13 and longitudinal approaches.14-22 Only longitudinal research directly quantifies the risk for adult anxiety or depressive disorders faced by adolescents with anxiety or depression. Keywords
