Abstract
A foil pulse pyrolyzer was used for analysis of insoluble samples. The sample size, the pyrolysis temperature, and the pyrolysis time were varied. It was possible to make quantitative determinations of the polymer using unvulcanized copolymers as standard substances. The relative standard deviation of the main peak was 1% . The amount of residue was determined and related to carbon black and zinc oxide in the sample and the influence of the sulphur content in the vulcanized rubber was studied. Keywords
