Abstract
We have investigated the WKB approximation in inelastic scattering theory. Numerical results are used to comment on some approximations frequently used when deriving the classical trajectory equations or simplified expressions for the transition probabilities. We have furthermore shown that a simple choice of a mean trajectory in the classical trajectory equations gives very good results. Keywords
