Abstract
The stability to small disturbances of a plane Poiseuille flow of a viscoelastic liquid has been investigated. The constitutive equation used is that proposed by Oldroyd, which has relaxation times of stress as well as of strain rate. The presence of elasticity has been found to destabilize the flow. Keywords
