Abstract
Mice from 4 inbred strains, S, Z, K, and BALB/Gw, each with a characteristic level of resistance to mouse typhoid were injected with single doses of cortisone ranging from 0.25 to 5 mg. In all strains resistance to S. typhimurium was markedly decreased. Cortisone had its greatest effect when given within 2 days before or after inoculation. Progesterone and desoxycorticosterone had no effect on mortality in mouse typhoid, in dosages between 0.1-10 mg.Keywords
