Abstract
Some peculiar nerve cells in the adenohypophysis of Rhodeus amarus are described. The cells are present in every pituitary gland and they may act as a functional link between the adenohypophysis and the nervous system. In specimens stained with Azan some larger cells with one or more processes can be found in the gonadotropic area of the adenohypophysis. The long spiral shaped or curved processes can be shown in nearly every section. The processes show an irregular course in both the glandular parenchym and in the neurohypophysis; sometimes they disappear near the pituitary stalk. Keywords
