Interscapular Cutaneous Amyloidosis

Abstract
The localization of cutaneous amyloidosis in the interscapular area was observed in 19 patients during the last ten years. Eighteen of the 19 patients were females, whose ages ranged from 18 to 63 years. The most frequent age of onset of the disease was between 20 and 40 years. The clinical appearance was that of a pigmentary reticular dermatosis. It differed from the usual appearance of lichen amyloidosis of the legs by the lack of firm, elevated, hyperkeratotic papules and by the lack of lichenification. Once the disease had developed, it remained a permanent affection.
