Abstract
Water cooling of a stator winding has already been proved to be reliable, and water cooling of a rotor winding has now been developed to such an extent that it can be used for turbo-generators with large unit ratings. After a short description of the construction of the prototype, the paper discusses the design problems encountered and presents the results of measurements and practical experiences obtained during operational testing. The paper finally presents an explanation of the performance characteristics of a water-cooled rotor. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
