Abstract
The effect of coherent speckling on the spectra of images and other signals is investigated. A method for estimating the spectrum of the unspeckled image is developed, and the errors inherent in such an estimate are analyzed. It is found that the error decreases when number of looks, number of averaged spectra, and contrast increase, and when spectral width decreases. Keywords
