Abstract
At the first hypertext conference, Hypertext'87 , there was some talk that we would soon stop having special hypertext conferences, just as we do not have special conferences about, say word processors. Future conferences would be focused on various application domains and might every now and then include papers on the use of a hypertext system. On the other hand there are still conferences about e.g. databases even though they have been one of the most commercially successful and widespread applications of computers. It may be too soon to call the final outcome, but right now it seems that hypertext conferences are proliferating (almost too much, in fact). Keywords
