Abstract
An enumeration of 302 spp. and vars. of trees, shrubs, and vines collected within 25 miles of Charleston, S. C, with synonomy, statements of frequency and distribution, and incidental notes. Account is given for the region of the geology, the history of plant collecting, and present botanical activity. Special mention is made of the present status of the Michaux Garden. 12 plant communities are described, with lists of typical spp. and comments on economic utilization. Complete keys, a glossary, a bibliography, and an index are supplied.
