Abstract
• Esophageal perforation is a rare major complication of fiberoptic endoscopic injection sclerotherapy for bleeding esophageal varices. This complication occurred in 1% (two) of our patients. Both patients recovered with conservative treatment. Although mild symptoms continued for a long period after the procedure, esophageal stenosis did not occur. (Arch Surg 1986;121:243-245)Keywords
