Abstract
The isolation of [human] vaginal yeasts [Candida albicans, C. tropicalis and Torulopsis glabrata] was compared on a selective medium, phosphomolybdic acid agar, and on starch agar, a nonselective differential medium used primarily to isolate Corynebacterium vaginale. The majority of C. albicans strains were isolated on starch agar, but the selective medium was required for isolating all yeasts from the greatest number specimens. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
