Abstract
The infra-red spectra of 1 : 1 complexes between benzene and chlorine, bromine, and iodine chloride have been studied, with the complexes isolated in a nitrogen matrix at 20 K. The results are interpreted as evidence for an oblique complex structure, with the halogen molecule interacting mainly with one of the C=C bonds. Keywords
