Photoconductance measurements in the non-linear transport regime of a few-electron quantum dot using phase-locked microwave sources
Abstract
A small quantum dot containing approximately 20 electrons is realized in a two-dimensional electron system of an AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructure and studied by combining microwave and conventional transport spectroscopy. Irradiation with microwaves results in photon-induced tunneling through ground and excited states of this artificial atom. We are able to probe photon-assisted tunneling in linear and non-linear transport. With a coupled two-source technique we confirm the results from the direct current measurement and obtain additional information on tunneling through an excited and a ground state. Keywords
