Abstract
Pine chlorite holocellulose after extraction first with dimethyl sulphoxide and water gives an araboxylan extraction with 14% potassium hydroxide. From the results of methylation studies it is concluded that this araboxylan has a backbone of 1, 4-linked [beta]-D-xylopyranose residues and that every 5th to 6th xylose residue is substituted in the 2-position with 4-O- methyl-D-glucopyranoxyluronic acid residues, while every 7th to 8th xylose residue is substituted in the 3-position with L-arabofuranose residues. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
