Abstract
Inanition in a group of rats was begun 24 hrs. after birth and continued through the first 23 days of life. The majority of signs, such as the opening of the external ear, the appearance of the upper incisors, the opening of the eyeslits, and so forth, showed retardation. Performance of the exptl. rats on a water maze was inferior to normal rats. Evidence indicated that the inferiority was not permanent. Keywords
