Abstract
The bound states energies and eigenfunctions of the Schrodinger equation with a radial Gaussian potential are obtained using a perturbational and also a variational treatment on a conveniently chosen basis of transformed Jacobi functions. The accuracy of the results is fairly good. Keywords
